Flight Paths is composed of 2600 flight map symbols set in the atrium of the Harry Reid International Airport Terminal Dās terrazzo floor and extends into the rapid transit area. Another element of the project entails a series of cast aluminum Boeing 757s jetliners, set in the inclined stainless steel areas between the escalators. Most airports are represented on flight maps by a series of concentric circles but in this airport's case, these regular circles are interrupted by restricted space over nuclear test sites, secret air force bases and other military facilities. This results in a visually compelling abstract form that is a perfect fit for the airport atrium space.
